Hi, I´m
Lucas. I´m eleven years old and I live in Olinda, in north-east Brazil. It´s an
old city next to the ocean.
I usually go
to school in the morning, but we´re on holiday today because it´s Carnival.
Carnival starts at midnight on Saturday. People follow a giant puppet called
the Midnight Man through the streets. There´s loud music with drums and dancing
every day. The dancing is like capoeira, and the dancers carry colourful
umbrellas.
On holiday I
wake up at eight o´clock and I go to the beach every morning. We go to Carnival
in the afternoon. In the evening we go
home and we have dinner. I usually go to bed at about ten o´clock. Then my mum
and dad sometimes watch the carnival on TV.
