“Hi, I´m Nico. I´m from the Canary Islands. I live in Corralejo, on the island of Fuerteventura. The beaches are great and it´s very windy, so windsurfing and sailing are popular.

There´s a kite festival here every November. It´s on from Friday to Sunday and people come from around the world. Sunday is my favourite day. They give kites to the children, and teddy bears with parachutes fly around and drop sweets on the beach! In the evening there are fireworks.

This year I´m going to the festival on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday I´m going to watch experts from different countries fly their kites. On Sunday I´m going to fly my new kite –it´s a black and white shark! I´m not going to watch the fireworks because I have school on Monday.”
